Berkshire Cricket - Officials Training programmes - 2012
We have now completed our
2012 L1 courses for both umpires and scorers.
Scorers
- The ECB ACO Scorer Level 1 course is a full day from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm.
This is the first step on the Officials Pathway to become a fully qualified scorer.
Umpires
- Candidates wishing to obtain an ECB ACO Level 1 certificate are required to attend
a two course plus undertake a 45 minute multiple choice exam - for details follow

Supported Development (Mentoring)
BCOA supports the further development of umpires and scorers in many ways.
Those
who wish to develop from Level 1 can take part in our Level 1 Supported Development
Programme.
This programme is designed to build on the knowledge of the law combining
it with match experience. It involves standing in a number of matches and undertaking
self analysis, attendance at a number of workshops throughout the season and standing
in selected matches with experienced colleagues.
Those taking part in this programme
can then move easily into the Level 1A scheme and then on to Level 2 if desired.

Several members are involved in a best practice mentor scheme that
was initiated in 2005 and has grown to include more than 30 officials in County and
League programmes. Much of this work is now been adopted by the ECB
