Knees damaged, mind gone. Now how do I spend a summers afternoon, Simon asked himself?
So in his own words Simon tells us his story from beginning his Umpire Career to being awarded the Berkshire Cricket League Panel Umpire of the Year.

My story begins in September of  2011.
One morning I am looking at the Berkshire Cricket League website and an advert for the BCOA Level 1 Umpire course pops up in front of me, after thinking about it for all of 30 seconds I decide to email Avril to ask if there were any places left on the course.  I get a reply later that day saying there are places available so decide to book my place, Avril advises then me to attend one of the Meet the Team events.
